How Do You Become An eBay PowerSeller?

So what exactly is a PowerSeller? PowerSellers are basically the authority guys on eBay, recognised by the visible little badge that has 'PowerSeller' written on it. You may have seen them around, in a nutshell, to succeed on eBay; you must think and do as they do.

EBay gets to decide who can be a PowerSeller and who can't, and they have strict requirements. To put it simply, if you had your own stall in a crowded marketplace, the chances are that you have your own general area of business, but generally only sell whatever you are able to get a hold of that sale. If your friend happened to get a hold of a product at a nice discount product, then that's what you'd find yourself selling. This could prove to be fun, especially when you have a good week, but it's no way to run a real business in the long run.
PowerSellers think far more like shops. They sell the same things again and again, every week - regular stock for regular customers. They do 'boring' business things like keep inventories and budgets. They know what they're going to be selling, how much they buy it for and how much they expect to sell for. Just like a real shop, there can be hard times sometimes, but their income is stable and their business can grow slowly.
The best possible advice that I can give you on thinking and behaving like a PowerSeller is this; do not take those long term risks simply for short term gain. Take care of your reputation, managing all your sales correctly, provide the best possible customer service you can and you should be rewarded in due time. And maybe some day you'll get that little 'PowerSeller' badge right next to your username that will make people especially trust you.
