If you are dreaming and planning to spend your next vacation and holidays to Parga then prepare yourself for the drop dead beauty of the place. On Greece s Ionian coast and ranged around two glittering bays, it s easy to fall in love with at first glance.

Parga is located on northwestern coast of Greece. The town is being surrounded entirely by the prefecture of Thesprotia. Parga is also the only municipality in Greece that is surrounded by another territory. It is located 49 km south of Igoumenitsa, 110 km southwest of Ioannina, 62 km northwest of Preveza and 90 km west of Arta. The early name of Parga is Ypargos. This place has been settled since the ancient times that is why you could find a lot of unique and deviant ruins surrounding the area.

Composed of charming shuttered houses, vibrant colored waterfront taverns and charming cobbled lanes, the old town is a perfect place to escape from the busy streets of your town. Its lively atmosphere is fuelled by visiting boats from Paxos and Corfu, and the town s alluring beaches provides a mix of fine pebbles and sands washed by crystal clear waters. And come sundown, Parga edges up the tempo, its dockside are perfect place for travelers to experience the local delicacies with taverns and bars and filled with chatter and bouzouki music.

Parga is blessed enough in terms of sceneries and resorts. The main resort on the west coast, the town curves around a postcard pretty bay washed by azure seas makes the place even more alluring. Away from the café filled waterfront and two lovely beaches, a charming old town of stone stepped streets loops up to a Venetian castle. During sundown or night time, people pour into the bay front cafes and bars. And behind the cove lined shores, another world is ahead of you in the wings. You would witness one of crumbled Ottoman fortresses and mysterious ancient sites. The place also has dramatic hills and ravines perfect for walking. Trace your finger further south on the map and you’ve got Lefkas. Connected to the mainland by a bridge, the island of Lefkas is one of Ionian’s lesser known gems. Here wooded mountains tumble down to secluded coves and tiny little harbours. Waterside tavernas painted in cobalt blue look out over turquoise bays bobbing with fishing boats. And dazzling sandy beaches invite flurries of wind and kite surfers.

If you are a fan of Greece’s islands then perhaps you would surely love Parga Lapped by the Ionian Sea and stretching south to the island of Lefkas, this portion of Greece is enclosed with a very magical features. Prepare to embrace the beauty of their crystal clear waters perfect for swimming. Their beaches are framed by steep cliffs. Hillsides sprinkled with dusty olive orchards. The resorts that are like a ray of sand that extends to the northern and southern regions are flawless. They also offer water sports like snorkeling and fishing. Put them all together and you’ve got yourself a helping of old world Greece.
