There are a whole host of different scenarios which constitute personal injury including:
* An accident at work which involved a slip, trip or fall.
* Being injured in a road traffic accident either as a driver, passenger or pedestrian. The most common car accident injury is whiplash or injury to the spine, including the neck.
* Repetitive strain injury which is sustained from excessive repetitive work practices.
* Industry related injuries and conditions such as white finger caused by use of vibrating tools and equipment used for long periods of time. Loss of hearing due to excessive noise at your workplace or asbestos related illness.
* Medical negligence, when you have suffered unnecessarily due to incorrect diagnosis or during or after an operation or routine medical procedure.
* Slips, trips or falls in public places, such as on the public highways where you have tripped on broken or uneven paving slabs, in shopping malls or public buildings such as libraries.
* Personal assault, where you have been the victim of a criminal act of actual bodily harm, stalking or unwanted harassment.
The list and term personal injury is extremely broad and within each are sub categories which are dependant upon the severity and nature of the injury or injuries you have suffered.
Whatever your injury or suffering you will need to find a compensation company which specialises in personal injury claims to ensure that you get the justice and compensation you deserve. Nowadays there are many companies who all offer their services and offer to help you make a claim. However, they are not all the same! For example many will offer their services throughout the UK which means that anyone from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are able to use their services. In reality this is not the case because the law in Scotland is different to that in England.
The whole process and procedures are carried out if a different method, including the type of courts used should you case go to trial. The only thing a personal injury claim may have in common is the legal right to seek compensation if you have been injured or suffered through no fault of your own.
Although any compensation you may be awarded may not make your pain and suffering disappear, if successful the money you receive will help counteract any financial loss of both the present and the future. Many personal injury comp companies also advertise that you may be entitled to thousands of pounds, however these are the cases which have hit the headlines and do necessarily mean that you will receive the same amount as each case is individual and unique.
