Drinking tea may sound like a mundane little habit but a trip through some English tea stores will quickly change your mind about that. There is a wide variety of tea that you won't find in the grocery store and there are tea pots and kettles and accessories that might even turn you into a tea drinker.
The first thing you will want to check out is the tea itself. You can buy any good tea loose and there are even tea pouches where you can make your own tea bag. There are herb teas, green teas and decaffeinated teas. Some teas are flavored with peach, apple, blackcurrant or any other number of natural flavorings. Mint tea is a refreshing beverage whether you brew it for a hot cup of tea or chill it and pour it over ice for an iced mint tea.
How you brew your tea is important and it can be as simple or elaborate as you like. You can use a good old tea kettle on the stove or try an electric kettle that can boil your water in just minutes. There are designer kettles, cordless kettles and any style that you can think of to choose from.
You can eve use a French press to brew your tea. Originally used for coffee, loose tea works the same way -just put your tea leaves in the basket, pour boiling water in and wait 3-4 minutes as it steeps and then pull up the plunger which will gather up your tea leaves with it and you have a delicious cup of tea.
Teapots are not only useful, they come in such an array of shapes and styles many people actually collect them. But they remain useful in keeping one or many cups of tea hot and handy while setting on the table top.
Teapots can be made out of glass, porcelain, bone China, even cast iron. You can get a teapot for one that even has a cup on top so it is quite compact and portable -perfect for when you want to curl up and read a good book with a hot cup of tea.
Or if you are having the girls over for high tea, you will want to follow the English tradition and have a nice China teapot. Along with the teapot you will want to have fine bone China teacups and saucers and serve the appropriate menu for high tea: finger sandwiches along with scones and Devonshire cream.
As for accessories, any fine tea shop will carry an assortment of tea cozies that fit around your teapot to keep it warm, honey sticks and dippers, and infusers that you can use to steep your tea in your cup.

Generally not too sweet as to overpower the gentle flavors of the tea you can select from shortbread cookies, mince pies and scone mixes.
